2013: After spending the first six weeks of the season on the active roster, Edwards joined the Lions 2013 practice squad for the remainder of the season.

  • Started in Week 1 vs. Minnesota (9/8) and caught three passes for 30 yards.
  • In Week 5 at Green Bay (10/6) totaled two receptions for 16 yards.

2012: Began his NFL career on the Detroit Lions practice squad for the 2012 season.

COLLEGE
Finished his four-year collegiate career at Houston with 4,471 receiving yards and 43 touchdowns. Was named the 2011 Conference USA Offensive Player of the Year.

  • Named to C-USA First Team as a senior as a part of the nation’s top-ranked offense. Owns the C-USA records for career receiving yards and 100-yard games (17). Caught at least one pass in every game of his career (48).
  • Earned Third Team All-American honors in 2011 and was named to C-USA Second Team as a punt returner along with his first team selection as a wide receiver. Invited to play in the 2012 Senior Bowl. Ranked first in the nation with 20 touchdown receptions, second with 1,752 receiving yards, sixth with 19.7 yards per catch and 15th with 89 receptions.
  • Had seven receptions for 318 yards and five touchdowns against Rice, the top performance by a wide receiver for the 2011 season in college football.

PERSONAL
Attended Hearne High School (Tex.) and played for coach Ralph Lymas. Helped team to 8-5 record and a trip to the state quarterfinals. Named First Team All-State as a senior. Also an All-Region and All-District basketball player.
