TWENTYMAN: Three Lions players change numbers

Three Detroit Lions players changed their numbers as Lions get to work preparing for the New York Giants.

The Detroit Lions’ initial roster is set after a few number changes came down the line on Monday.

Undrafted rookie free agent Jerome Couplin, who is one of five safeties who made the team, has changed his number from 46 to 24.

Defensive end George Johnson, who is likely to play a key role on defense this year after a stellar training camp, changed from 68 to 93.

The final change is practice-squad cornerback Mohammed Seisay changing from 45 to 40.

Those are the only number changes so far as the Lions begin preparing for the New York Giants with a Labor Day practice.
