Lions still in wait-and-see mode with a few offensive starters on the injury report

Safety Louis Delmas (knee), left guard Rob Sims (knee) and defensive tackle Nick Fairley (shoulder) were all limited at practice today for the Lions, but the good news is that all three were able to participate in some capacity of a heavy preparation day for the Lions.

It looks good at this point that all three will be able to play Sunday in Washington.

"You know I don’t put timetables on guys when it comes to having to practice on a certain day," head coach Jim Schwartz said.

"We have had a lot of players that have gotten back to practice and didn’t play. Nick Fairley was one last week. Other guys didn’t practice at all, but played on Sunday. We’ll take each case individually."

The Lions were still without running back Reggie Bush, but he said today that was hopeful to return to the practice field Friday to test the knee out.

"Well it’s a long way to Sunday," Bush said. "Obviously I’m optimistic about playing. I always am. But today was a good day.

"The progress thus far since this last Sunday has been really good. I feel it’s a lot further than I expected. It feels a lot better than I thought it was going to feel. I’m happy where it is right now. Today was a very positive day, so we’ll see what happens tomorrow."

Receiver Patrick Edwards (ankle), right tackle Jason Fox (groin), safety Don Carey (hamstring) and linebacker Ashlee Palmer (ankle) were all listed on today’s injury report as not practicing.
